Acurlite Structural Skylights, Inc. was founded by Ron and Donna Palombo in late 2000. Ron Palombo was an original owner and co-founder of Skytech Systems in 1985. In 1997 Traco Architectural Window Company purchased Skytech Systems. Ron and his wife Donna assembled a talented group of former Skytech employees to start Acurlite. This talented group of engineers, project managers, administrators and fabricators has a main focus to design, engineer, manufacture and install commercial heavy duty skylights.
Acurlite’s skylight system is an internally guttered heavy duty pressure equalized tubular architectural skylight system. Acurlite’s skylight system is based on the “rain screen principle or the principals of pressure equalization. Acurlite’s system has been designed and independently tested to exceed industry minimum guidelines by three times for air and water infiltration and also structural loading. Acurlite’s system is structurally tested to Zone 1 Large missile impact, earning Acurlite a Florida Building Code Approval. Acurlite is also testing for Miami Dade County Approval. Acurlite’s skylight system has been successfully used in many commercial projects requiring high extreme load requirements.
Acurlite is a PA Certified WBE and we are proud to say we are part of the Ben Franklin Organization. Acurlite is located off of Interstate 80 in Berwick, PA.
